Library Collection:

The Law Library has one of the largest collections of common law legal material in Western Australia.

The principal collection and the service centre is located at the Supreme Court. A branch library for the convenience of practitioners appearing in the District and Magistrates courts is located in the Central Law Courts building.

Electronic Databases:

The libraries subscribe to many electronic legal research databases including LexisNexis, Thomson’s Legal Online, CCH Intelliconnect, TimeBase and Justis. Access to these databases is only available from within the library

Photocopying & Printing:

Copying and printing facilities are available, with the convenience of an auto billing system for legal practitioners.

Document Delivery:

Copies of law reports, articles, legislation and other legal material may be requested from the Reference desk by members of the legal profession. Requests should be submitted either by fax or email.

Interlibrary loans are available to law firms, and other libraries. Interlibrary loans are charged according to the ALIA Resource Sharing (ILRS) Code

Online judgment subscription services:

Legal practitioners may obtain access to the databases of Western Australian Court decisions by subscribing to the PLEAS online service.

Training:

Assistance is given in the use of the various electronic legal research databases in the library.

Library induction tours can be booked for groups of Articled Clerks and law students by contacting the Customer Services Librarian.

A program of CPD training sessions is offered to legal practitioners.
